A citrus-forward cocktail with a soft foam top, smoky herbal notes, & a beautiful presentation that tastes as good as it looks.
Flavor Profile:
-Bright, citrusy, & smooth
-Balanced sweetness from the honey
-Creamy texture from the foam
-A hint of smoky herbal aroma from the charred garnish
Ingredients:
For the Drink:
-2 oz gin or blanco tequila (yourcall - gin for floral, tequila for earthy)
-1 oz fresh orange juice
-3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
-3/4 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey + hot water)
-1 egg white
-Dash of orange bitters
For Garnish:
1 fresh sage leaf
Instructions:
1. Dry Shake:
Add all ingredients to a shaker without ice. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to build the foam.
2. Wet Shake:
Add ice & shake again for another 15 seconds to chill.
3. Strain & Serve:
Fine strain into a low ball glass. Let the foam rise to the top.
4. Garnish with Drama
Carefully char the sage leaf with a kitchen torch or lighter until lightly smoking & fragrant. Lay it gently on the foam.
